Today most dentures are so realistic looking no one really knows that you have false teeth. However, many people who have just gotten dentures for the first time wonder and worry if dentures like their real teeth become stained and if so how in the world do you whiten dentures.

While dentures do get stained by the same things that stain natural teeth including coffee, tea, tobacco, certain foods and wines they are also much easier to clean since you can remove them from your mouth do whiten them. In most cases, you can use the same whitening gels that come in those whitening kits to whiten your dentures or false teeth. Best, of all you don’t have to worry about these gels bothering your sensitive gums since you rinse, brush, and re-rinse those dentures thoroughly after whitening before placing them back in your mouth.

Some people even leave their dentures soaking in the whitening gel overnight resulting in whiter dentures much faster than they could whiten their natural teeth using these types of products.

Other denture wearers don’t bother with the expense of whitening gels at all, but rather use plain old bleach to bleach out those stains in their dentures. They simply fill a small dish full of bleach and warm water drop their teeth in and go off to sleep letting the bleach whiten their dentures overnight while they sleep. The next morning they simply rinse their teeth off, brush them thoroughly and pop them back into their mouth and they are good to go.

While still other brush their false teeth with a mixture of baking soda and peroxide and leave it on over night before washing it off the next morning. Because dentures can remain out of your mouth overnight while they whiten you can actually see faster results from whitening those dentures than from whitening normal teeth. This means denture wearers often have the best looking pearly whites around!

While no one wants to lose their natural teeth and have to wear dentures at least denture wears know that they don’t have to suffer from stained and discolored dentures like they once did when those dentures were made from wood or elephant ivory. So, if you are a first time denture wearer you don’t have to worry about replacing those dentures every time they become stained. You can return them to their previous whiteness often overnight.
